EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

 JOB DESCRIPTION –MEMBERSHIP COORDINATOR

.4 FTE position (16 hours/wk.)

Reports to Executive Director

Salary: $16.00/hour

Deadline: until filled

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

The Membership Coordinator will be responsible for supporting membership and fundraising activities focusing on membership administration, donor communications, database management and financial tasks related to the membership program. This position will be the point person to answer questions about membership and other fundraising efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1.  FINANCIAL & ACCOUNTING

  • Open fundraising and membership mail
  • Process checks associated with membership, fundraising and events.
  • Producing annual reports on membership and contribution activities

2.  MEMBERSHIP AND FUNDRAISING

  • Maintain membership and fundraising records in data base
  • Send out membership thank you letters at least weekly
  • Coordinate membership solicitation at special events and public programs
  • Support Membership and Fundraising Committee activities and attend committee meetings
  • Working with volunteers to increase revenue through special events & membership drives
  • Support membership and major donor events

4.  COMMUNITY RELATIONS

  • Representing the Friends and the Park to the community in concert with the Executive Director and education staff, the Friends Board and volunteers, and the Park Manager and OPRD staff
  • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with Friends staff and the Park Manager and other OPRD staff in accordance with OPRD's Cooperative Association Manual

5.  Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office and experience working with database software
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong writing skills
  • Ability to work in a high energy and multitasking environment
  • Valid drivers’ license and willingness to drive personal vehicle for work-related activities

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Microsoft Access and QuickBooks
