Nature Day Camp Positions:
Summer 2008
Nature Day Camp Education and Interpretation Intern
Responsibilities:
Leading hikes and teaching small groups in large wooded area, developing curriculum for elementary age campers, managing aftercare program, developing and delivering interpretive programs to park visitors, and being an active participant in building a cohesive staff.
Schedule:
Training June 16 20 times TBA
9:30 6:00 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and Wednesdays 12:30 9:00 pm.. June 23 August 22, 2008
Preferred Background:
Interest in learning more about environmental education and interpretation. Experience working with elementary aged children. Experience working with a team. Knowledge of Pacific Northwest natural history

Nature Day Camp Journeys Program Intern
Responsibilities:
Assisting with hikes and teaching natural history activities at Tryon Creek and at other locations, coordinating with lead instructor, singing songs, and playing games.
Schedule:
8:00-4:00 + overnights June 16 August 22, 2008
Requirements:
Experience in outdoor educational programs. Knowledge of
Pacific Northwest
natural history. Past volunteer experience with Friends of Tryon Creek Nature Day Camp

Assistant Counselor Volunteer Position
Responsibilities:
Assisting with hikes and teaching natural history activities at Tryon Creek, coordinating with instructors, singing songs, playing games, and participating in skits and other activities.
Schedule:
8:30-3:30 Monday- Friday for two weeks during June 23 August 22, 2008
Requirements:
Interest in working with elementary and primary age children. Knowledge about and/or interest in natural history.
