March 24

Fungus among Us

9:00 - 3:00; $50 ($42 for members)

Where do mushrooms really come from?  How many different types of fungus make Tryon their home?  What is the difference between a slime mold and a mushroom?  We will make spore prints, go on a mushroom hunt, and make a mushroom journal from pictures we take ourselves.

Tracks and Scat
9:00 - 3:00; $50 ($42 for members)

Over 200 animals call Tryon Creek State Park home, but we never see them.  This camp will focus on finding clues that let us learn about who is hiding in the forest.  We will set pit traps, make a track “catcher”, and explore animal trails as well as making our own track murals.
