Using the Park as its classroom, the Friends provide the public with a wide variety of stimulating opportunities to learn about science, ecology, regional environment, and local history. We offer formal and informal structured education and interpretive programs to people of all ages. We support the development and maintenance of accessible, thematic, hands-on interpretive exhibits throughout the Nature Center and the park.

In addition, the Friends host cultural events throughout the year. All events are designed to offer new ways for people to relate to the park through a deeper awareness of the natural environment, and to help develop a sense of community. The Friends are committed to making these programs open and accessible to all.

Are you bringing your camp or large group to Tryon Creek State Natural Area this Summer?  Please contact Lori, the Camp Director as a courtesy to organize timing with our day camps.  We have limited parking and bathrooms.  Thanks, 503-636-4398.
