Classes and Camps for Kids

FOTC uses the asset that is the Tryon Creek State Natural Area as an outdoor classroom to inspire critical thinkers who value a balanced and sustainable earth.

To combat the well-documented disconnect that exists between children and the environment, the Friends have created educational programs to build bridges between the two that awaken a sense of wonder and ultimately lead to a stronger commitment to the stewardship of the land. We see enormous value in introducing "wonder" and uot;beauty" into the lives of children and sharing the inspiration that has touched all who are connected to the park. The Friends have developed a range of age-sensitive programs to meet these goals.
