Join Friends of Tryon Creek, Your Nature Network and Respond To Racism for an early evening full moon hike to celebrate seasonal changes and community. This hike is for community members who identify as Black, Indigenous and/or People of Color and allies.
Bats in the evening time will be a perfect fall theme! Before the hike we'll learn about the bats that live in the Tryon forest and along the hike, we'll keep our eyes open for spotting bats overhead.
Depending on group sizes, we will offer multiple hiking options: 1.5 miles of level hiking trails near the Nature Center, or 1.2 mile loop down to the creek and back. We will stop along the way to share with each other and learn more about the forest plants and wildlife.
The hike is usually an hour long and is not suitable for our furry dog friends.
This event is supported by a Metro Parks and Nature Community-led Programs Award.
